The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings play a Saturday preseason game at TCF Bank Stadium.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers look for brighter days after winning just six games their last two seasons. Tampa Bay hopes the future is in rookie quarterback Jameis Winston, who was named the starter over Mike Glennon. You can expect a lot of reps for Winston this preseason with guys such as Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson in hopes of getting him comfortable. It will also be interesting to see if running back Doug Martin is healthy for once. Rookie WR Kenny Bell has a chance to rise up the depth chart with a solid preseason. Defensively, the Buccaneers could really improve and have some young guys who need to step up. Some names to watch include Kwon Alexander, William Gholston and Leonard Johnson.

The Minnesota Vikings are coming off a Sunday preseason win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, 14-3. Teddy Bridgewater threw just six passes for 44 yards while Mike Kafka led the way with 66 passing yards and a touchdown. MyCole Pruitt had 51 receiving yards and a touchdown while Matt Asiata led the Vikings with 30 rushing yards on six carries. You can expect the offensive starters to play a tab bit more in this preseason matchup but not significantly more. Mike Wallace should have more than his one target that he had on Sunday. Defensively, Shamar Stephen led Minnesota with five tackles, Jabari Price had two pass deflections and Tom Johnson had a sack.
The Buccaneers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-10 ATS in their last 11 Saturday games. The Vikings are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Buccaneers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings.
I don't like the Vikings on short rest against a Tampa Bay team that's well rested entering its first preseason contest. I also expect Winston to play quite a bit given that he's going to be the regular season starter. Give me the Bucs and the points.
