The Atlanta Falcons opened the preseason with a high scoring 31-24 victory against the visiting Tennessee Titans. This was about as exciting as the preseason gets with the Falcons breaking a 24-24 tie with a touchdown midway through the 4th quarter for their only points of the second half. The Titans held a 371-323 advantage in yardage but committed three turnovers to one for the Falcons. Matt Ryan was 6-6 for 86 yards and a touchdown with TJ Yates seeing most of the action with 105 yards and an interception on 9-15.
