NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 1 Schedule and More
August 29, 2015
We’ve got a big Week 3 NFL preseason schedule coming up today, so there will be a lot to keep up with. Let’s start by checking out today’s headlines and see what’s happening around the league.
The Cowboys got some bad news yesterday involving OL R.J. Dill. He’s been suspended for four games due to violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
That said, Dill was on the roster bubble anyway and would have been a backup had he made the team.

The Broncos made a roster move yesterday, signing TE Dan Light. They waived WR Solomon Patton to make room.
Light is a rookie this season, coming out of Fordham. He posted 177 catches in his four years of college.
Buccaneers fans won’t be able to see receiver Kenny Bell in today’s game. He’s out with a hamstring injury.
The rookie Bell has had two hamstring injuries this summer already.
The Steelers are going to be without center Maurkice Pouncey for the first half of the season.
Pouncey will be placed on the injured reserve list and will have to sit out at least the first eight games of this year. He’s recovering from a broken fibula.
The Titans’ David Cobb was out of action for last night’s game at Kansas City. He’s dealing with an injured calf.
Cobb was hurt during Thursday’s practice session. It’s a big setback for him, as he had been working his way into some first-team time.
