The Houston Texans and Dallas Cowboys play a Thursday preseason game at AT&T Stadium.

The Houston Texans are 2-1 in preseason play and are coming off a win over the New Orleans Saints. Ryan Mallett and Brian Hoyer still haven’t decided their quarterback battle, so it’ll be interesting to see how head coach Bill O’Brien decided to play this preseason game. Tom Savage could be left out of the loop on this one depending on how things play out. Rookie running back Kenny Hilliard has looked sharp during his playing time and rookie wide receiver Jaelen Strong is coming off his best preseason game yet. The Texans may have found some answers this preseason. Defensively, Darryl Morris led Houston in its last game with six tackles, Akeem Dent had a sack and Kevin Johnson had a pass deflection.

Cowboys vs. Texans - 9/3/15 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

The Dallas Cowboys are 0-3 in preseason play and are coming off a loss to the Minnesota Vikings. With no Tony Romo, Dustin Vaughan and Jameill Showers will get all of the reps in this matchup and help decide who’s worth backing up Brandon Weeden as the third string QB. With Darren McFadden likely resting as well, running backs Ben Malena and Gus Johnson have another shot to turn some heads. Lucky Whitehead is coming off a solid outing at wide receiver and fullback Tyler Clutts was a popular target in the last game. Defensively, Damien Wilson led Dallas in its last game with five tackles, Brandon Carr had two pass deflections and Davon Coleman had two tackles for loss.

The Texans are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Thursday games. The Cowboys are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overal. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

The Cowboys can't lose every preseason game, can they? I look for the Dallas backups to have a little pride in this one and find a way to string a win together.
