NFL Football: Monday, September 14, 2015 at 7:10 pm (Georgia Dome)

The Line: Atlanta Falcons +2.5 -- Over/Under: 55 See the Latest Odds

The Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons square off Monday night at the Georgia Dome.

The Philadelphia Eagles hope to return to the playoffs for a second time in three years under coach Chip Kelly. The Eagles offense will look a little different this season with Sam Bradford at quarterback and DeMarco Murray at running back. Receiver Nelson Agholor also has a chance to become a star for Philly. Judging by the way the Eagles let things up in the preseason, it’s clear Philadelphia is ready to put a lot of points on the board once again. Defensively, the Philadelphia Eagles ranked last season 28th in total yards allowed and 22nd in scoring defense. The addition of Byron Maxwell at cornerback certainly helps, while Connor Barwin and DeMeco Ryans add the toughness to the Eagles D. Tackle Lane Johnson is questionable with a knee injury.

Falcons vs. Eagles - 9/14/15 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Atlanta Falcons hope to get back on track with a new head coach in Dan Quinn, as they’ve won just 10 games the last two seasons. Offensively, there’s really no excuse for the Falcons with Matt Ryan at quarterback and Julio Jones and Roddy White on the outside. However, it would certainly help if Atlanta running backs Devonta Freeman and rookie Tevin Coleman had breakout seasons this year. The Falcons finished 12th last season in scoring offense. Defensively, the Atlanta Falcons finished last season ranked 32nd in total yards allowed and 22nd in scoring defense. There’s really nowhere to go but up for the Falcons defensively, and the additions of Charles Godfrey and rookie Vic Beasley are steps in the right direction. Wide receiver White is questionable with an elbow injury.

The Eagles are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Monday games and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games in September. The Falcons are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games on fieldturf and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. NFC. Eagles are 9-4-1 ATS in their last 14 meetings.

I think there's value in getting a talented Falcons squad at home and the plus money. However, can we really back an Atlanta team that was dead last in yards allowed last season when its playing the best offensive team in the league? Yikes.

I'm really torn with this pick, but I see value with the Falcons at home. It's tough to win the dome, especially on Monday night when the crowd will be going nuts. Considering I always take the value, I'm calling an outright upset here.
