The Niners begin life without Jim Harbaugh on Monday night as they host the Vikings who are considered by most to be a dark horse in the NFC.

The Minnesota Vikings head into San Fran on Monday night looking to regain their swagger and claim a playoff berth in the NFC this season and in order to do so they will have to get a special season from Adrian Peterson. The one time league rushing champion who almost eclipsed the league record for yards in a season missed all of last year thanks to a suspension from the league and the Vikings after off field child abuse chargers were laid. The Vikings will be led by second year pivot Teddy Bridgewater who looked great down the stretch last season and now with speedster Mike Wallace on board and both Charles Johnson and Cordarrelle Patterson in the mix this could be a very athletic Vikings offense. Defense was Minny's forte last season and return a large portion of their starter's led by Anthony Barr and now with Trae Wayans in the Vikes could very well surprise a lot of teams this season and that could start on Monday night against the 49ers.
San Francisco has undergone a tumultuous offseason to say the least as they fired head coach Jim Harbaugh who left for the University of Michigan and are without Frank Gore and Patrick Willis who were two huge pieces of the team's core. The Niners seem to be in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately but they still have a pretty solid football team despite playing in a tough NFC West division and playing at home in prime time on Monday Night Football could be the extra incentive needed for this team to make a statement. Anquan Boldin and Torrey Smith are the team's primary pass catchers and Carlos Hyde will be the feature back and while it might look decent on paper I am not buying the Niners this season and think the line in this one is completely off. I think Minny will not only cover but have a great chance at hitting the money line as they are a younger, more athletic team that should be more cohesive than a Niners bunch that has undergone a number of changes.
