NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 12 Schedule and More
November 26, 2015
Thanksgiving Day is always fun when it comes to NFL action. We’ve got three great games to look forward to in the coming hours, starting at 12:30 PM ET and cruising into the wee hours. While we’re waiting, let’s take a moment to visit the headlines in our daily wrap-up.
The Lions’ Calvin Johnson is expected to take the field today. He’s questionable due to an ankle injury.
Johnson gets a nice matchup today against a woeful Eagles secondary, and if he’s truly healthy enough to play he should do well.

On the other side of that Eagles-Lions matchup, Mark Sanchez will be starting for Philly at quarterback.
Sam Bradford has been cleared from his concussion, but still has a shoulder sprain (non-throwing) that he’s getting over. Sanchez has his work cut out for him after a horrid Week 11.
Yesterday, after it was widely reported that the Seahawks’ Marshawn Lynch would forego surgery on his sports hernia, it was revealed that he actually had undergone the procedure.
The team expects Lynch to return at some point this season, but that sounds pretty optimistic. At best, he’ll probably miss around a month while he recovers and may not see the field again unless the Seahawks somehow make the playoffs.
Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins got some good news late yesterday when it was revealed that the team will be without top cornerback Darelle Revis, who sustained a concussion last week.
The Jets secondary has imploded over the past five weeks, allowing an average of nearly 300 yards per game through the air. We should see a lot of passing from Miami.
The Chargers’ Antonio Gates was limited in yesterday’s practice due to his hip injury.
Gates is over his MCL issue, but the knee is still a problem. He’ll likely be limited all week, but as of right now it’s looking like he’ll take the field against Jacksonville.
