NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 15 Schedule and More
December 19, 2015
We’ve got another Week 15 NFL game ahead of us tonight as the Jets and Cowboys square off in Dallas. While we’re waiting on that one, let’s check out some of the notable players and situations out there right now.
The Patriots’ Devin McCourty was able to practice on a limited basis yesterday. He’s listed as questionable.
McCourty is believed to have a high-ankle sprain, which is an injury that normally takes at least a couple of weeks to get over. We doubt he’ll be out there for tomorrow’s game against the Titans, but Week 16 isn’t out of the question.

We could see Cowboys QB Kellen Moore on the field this year. The team has alluded to a desire to see what type of skill-set he has at the NFL level, and it’s conceivable that he might even get out there tonight in the case of a blowout.
The team isn’t going to bench Matt Cassel in favor of Moore--not while the Cowboys still have an outside shot at the postseason anyway--but they clearly want to see what the youngster can do. Moore may see some field time before the year is out.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Seahawks divvy up carries at RB in this week’s game. The coaching staff has said that the trio of Bryce Brown, Christine Michael and Derrick Coleman will all get carries, with Fred Jackson mixed in on third downs.
We’re probably looking at a “hot hand” approach here based on game-flow.
Let’s go back to the Patriots for a moment and check on a couple more of their injury situations.
Tom Brady is questionable for tomorrow against the Titans due to an illness. He was out of practice yesterday, but there’s little doubt that he’ll be suiting up for Week 15.
As for Julian Edelman, he’s still not ready yet. He’s considered doubtful with his foot injury. The good news is that he’s back to practicing on a limited basis, and will probably be able to take the field next week in a big game against the Jets. That’s bad news for Gang Green.
Let’s finish up with a few Chargers injury notes. TE Ladarius Green is questionable for tomorrow against the Dolphins due to an ankle injury. He was able to return to practice yesterday, but looks like a game-time decision.
As for WR Stevie Johnson, he’s doubtful due to a groin issue. This will be his second straight missed week. He doesn’t have a return date yet.
Dontrelle Inman, however, is probable with that neck injury and gets a good matchup against the Miami pass defense.
