NFL Updates: News From Around the League, Week 16 Schedule and More
December 25, 2015
Week 16 in the NFL is off and running, and we’ve got just a couple more days to wait for the next game. In the meantime, let’s take our daily look at the headlines and see who’s in the news.
Chargers-Raiders Wrap-Up: It wasn’t pretty, but the Raiders got a 23-20 win over the Chargers last night on the Week 16 edition of “Thursday Night Football.” The victory came on an overtime field goal by Sebastian Janikowski.
Neither offense was very good here, but Latavius Murray does deserve some praise with his 117 total yards on 24 touches. He also snagged a rush touchdown.
The Chargers fall to 4-11 with the loss, while the Raiders move to 7-8 and can finish at .500 with a win next week. With all the relocation rumors following both these teams, we could see a very different landscape next season.

Had the Bengals practiced today, Tyler Eifert wouldn’t have been out there. He’s still stuck in the league’s concussion protocol, and will not be playing against Denver on Monday night.
Tyler Kroft will get the start at TE again. He’s only got nine targets on the season.
According to veteran WR Anquan Boldin, he’d like to return to San Francisco next year.
Boldin is 35 years old and heading into free agency this off-season. He says he’s not thinking about retirement and will return to the field. We’ll have to wait and see if the Niners are interested in bringing back the veteran or if they’d like to go in a new direction.
Broncos QB Peyton Manning reportedly has a “big workout” set for tomorrow. From what we can gather, this workout will help gauge where he’s at as far as his foot health and whether or not he’ll be able to play again in 2015.
Manning has been out of action for the last five games, and his replacement Brock Osweiler is beginning to show some cracks. We’ll see how things go tomorrow.
Seahawks fans will want to keep a close eye on WR Doug Baldwin. He was out of action in practice yesterday thanks to a hamstring injury.
It looks like Baldwin could be headed for a game-time decision, but the coaching staff seems to be optimistic about his status, for what it’s worth.
