The Miami Dolphins and New York Giants play a preseason game Friday night at MetLife Stadium.
The Miami Dolphins have been stuck in mediocrity for quite some time and now have a new coaching staff led by Adam Gase. The offense will go as far as quarterback Ryan Tannehill improves, and he has a solid offensive line which includes rookie Laremy Tunsil. For this game, you’re going to see a lot of Matt Moore and rookie Brandon Doughty, who broke records at WKU and set college football on fire with his air attack. We’ll also get to see Arian Foster for the first time outside of Houston. Defensively, the Miami Dolphins rookie cornerback Xavien Howard is fighting for a starting spot with Brent Grimes in Tampa Bay, and Zach Vigil is a guy to watch at linebacker.

The New York Giants have missed out on the playoffs four straight seasons and hope they get back on track in a wide open NFC East. The Giants starting offense is pretty much set other than the fact rookie receiver Sterling Shepard is fighting for a starting job. Behind Eli Manning, the Giants are going to give the bulk of the reps to Logan Thomas and Ryan Nassib. Thomas is a former Dolphin and somebody who the league is not giving up on just yet due to his big build and strong arm. Defensively, the New York Giants will play new defensive end Olivier Vernon for the first time, who also spent years in Miami. Rookies Eli Apple and Darian Thompson also have a chance to crack some playing time in a jumbled secondary.
The Dolphins are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The road team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
The Dolphins have things to figure out with their new coaching staff and young players on both sides of the ball before anybody can pick them to start winning ball games. Also, anybody know the Giants preseason record the last two seasons? A combined 7-2. I'll take some of that.
