The New England Patriots look to build on their one point win over the Chicago Bears last week as they take on the Carolina Panthers in Charlotte on Friday.
The Patriots inch closer to making their regular season debut but have a couple games left before doing so and will look to use this road tune up as a measuring stick against one of the other top teams in the NFL from Carolina. The Pats will obviously be without Tom Brady for the first four games of the season and much has been made about his absence and whether the team will be able to salvage without him but with Bill Belichick in command you can be sure that the Patriots will be just fine. New England will likely see some snaps from their first group on both sides of the ball and they will welcome in newly acquired Barkevious Mingo who was sent over from the Cleveland Browns yesterday.

The Panthers meanwhile are looking to get back to the Super Bowl after a disappointing end to their season last year in the big game but they will have a lot of company in a very competitive NFC this season. Carolina will welcome back Kelvin Benjamin which should be music to the ears of Cam Newton who will look to build on his remarkable season last year and Benjamin and Devin Funchess can get on the same page they could make for one of the most dynamic receiving tandems in the NFL. Carolina is coming off a 26-16 road win against the Tennessee Titans and looked pretty good in that victory and with the home crowd on their side and the Pats in town they will be out for an encore.
New England is a paltry 3-12 ATS in their last 15 games on grass and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games while the Panthers are 7-1 in their last eight games on grass, 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 home games, and 11-5 in their last 16 ATS overall. All signs point to the Panthers here who should be up for this one against one of the other upper echelon teams in the NFL and I am laying the points.
