The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Calgary Stampeders square off Saturday afternoon at McMahon Stadium.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers look to build on their ridiculous seven-game winning streak. Matt Nichols is completing 71 percent of his passes for 1,927 yards, eight touchdowns and one interception. Nichols has two touchdowns in his last three games. Weston Dressler and Darvin Adams have combined for more than 1,100 receiving yards and four touchdowns while Clarence Denmark has 26 receptions. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers ground game is averaging 82.1 yards per contest, and Andrew Harris leads the way with 677 yards and four touchdowns. The Calgary Stampeders also look to stay hot and build on their incredible 10-1-1 record. Bo Levi Mitchell is completing 67.8 percent of his passes for 3,936 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions. Mitchell has seven touchdowns in his last three games. Marquay McDaniel and Bakari Grant have combined for more than 1,400 receiving yards and eight touchdowns while Anthony Parker has 44 receptions. The Calgary Stampeders ground game is averaging 88 yards per contest, and Jerome Messam leads the way with 739 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, Calgary is allowing 21.7 points and 389.7 yards per game. Deron Mayo leads the Stampeders with 57 tackles, Charleston Hughes has 10 sacks and Jamar Wall has three interceptions.
The Blue Bombers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Stampeders are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Blue Bombers are 4-9-1 ATS in their last 14 meetings in Calgary and 3-7-2 ATS in their last 12 meetings overall.
This should be a hell of a matchup between the two hottest teams in the CFL and two clubs that haven't lost a game since June or July. However, the spread is big for a reason and that's because Calgary has won five straight against Winnipeg and the two meetings this season weren't even close. I'm tempted to take the Blue Bombers and the points, but history doesn't lie much between these two clubs and the Stampeders have been on another level all year. Not to mention Calgary has been good ATS in these meetings.
Give me the home team by double digits.
