The Los Angeles Rams look to follow up their big home win last week against the Seahawks as they head to the road to face off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Rams have played eight quarters of football this season and have yet to find the endzone as they have scored just nine points in two games, all off the leg of Greg Zuerlein, but they will look for much more than that here against the Bucs. The Rams need to get Todd Gurley going as the sophomore has been held in check thus far but could be in for a big game here as the Bucs are coming off a tough outing against the Arizona Cardinals and could be susceptible on defense. The Rams need to focus on disrupting Jameis Winston and not allowing Mike Evans to get open down field, but some losses to their secondary in the offseason could prove difficult as the strength of the Rams defense is stopping the run. Case Keenum continues to man the ship behind center but there could be calls for Jared Goff soon if Keenum falters.
The Bucs meanwhile looked great in their week one win against the Falcons but were stomped by the Cards in Arizona last week and will look to get back on track here in their home opener. Tampa has a solid core in place led by Winston, Evans, and Doug Martin but they are pretty solid defensively as well and added to that in the offseason by drafting Vernon Hargraeves out of Florida to shore up their secondary and with the limited weapons the Rams have through the air I think this Bucs group will key in on them and have a much better outing than they did last week.
The Rams are 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven road games and 15-36-1 ATS in their last 52 games in September while the Bucs are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games after allowing 30+ points in their previous game, 1-5 ATS in their last six against the NFC, and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games in September. The Rams got a win last week but are still a very bad team and taking to the road to play Tampa in their home opener is not a good spot. I like Tampa here.
