The Washington Redskins look to stay red hot as they take to the road to battle the Detroit Lions at Ford Field on Sunday.
The Redskins have quietly turned their season around and sit at 4-2 on the year in hot pursuit in the NFC East and if they can get another big road win here against the Detroit Lions they will be sitting pretty through seven weeks. Washington’s offense was expected to take a step forward here in another of experience behind center from Kirk Cousins and while Matt Jones has been up and down and the receiving corps has had to battle through injuries they are in good shape right now and should be able to keep pace with the Lions in this one. The Skins need a big game from Josh Norman and company in the secondary as Matt Stafford is having another fantastic season and at home here he will be ready to light up the score board once again.

Detroit meanwhile sits at 3-3 through six weeks of the season and while that is considered an underachievement in some circles they are probably right where they should be as they have some holes in their roster but are capable of challenging for a playoff spot. The offense is rolling despite a non existent run game right now and with Golden Tate finally breaking out we could see the potential of this group moving forward as he and Marvin Jones set up a pretty solid tandem and with Stafford throwing the ball they have big game potential.
The Redskins are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven against the NFC while the Lions are 5-1 ATS in their last six on turf and 4-1 ATS in their last five following a cover. With these two offenses rolling and this being a must win type game for each team I think we see a high scoring affair that should soar over the already high total.
