We’ve got an AFC East rivalry matchup coming in NFL action on Sunday, November 27, as the New England Patriots travel to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford to visit the New York Jets.

New England enters play here with an 8-2 record on the year, bouncing back from a loss to the Seahawks with a 30-17 win over the 49ers this past Sunday. In that game, the Patriots were up just three points heading into the fourth quarter, but outscored San Francisco 17-7 in the final frame.

New York Jets vs. New England Patriots - 11/27/16 NFL Pick, Odds, and Prediction

USA TODAY Sports

So far this year, New England QB Tom Brady is playing well on 1915 yards, 16 touchdowns and just one pick, while LeGarrette Blount leads the rushers on 201 attempts for 802 yards and 12 scores. Rob Gronkowski is the Patriots’ top receiver with 25 catches for 540 yards and three scores.

Over on the Jets’ side, they’re coming out of a bye week at a disappointing 3-7 on the year, losing six of their last eight. In New York’s last game, they lost to the Rams in an ugly 9-6 result, keyed by a late Alec Ogletree interception of Bryce Petty.

On the year thus far for the Jets, Ryan Fitzpatrick is still the team’s top passer on 1983 yards, eight scores and 13 picks, while Matt Forte has been doing a good job on the ground with 189 carries for 732 yards and seven touchdowns. Brandon Marshall is New York’s top receiver on 43 catches for 601 yards and two TDs.

The Patriots are 5-0 ATS in their last five road games, and 4-0 ATS in they last four games versus the AFC. New England is also 5-1 ATS in their last six games in Week 12, and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.

As for the Jets, they’re 5-2-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record, and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 versus the AFC East. New York is also 8-21 ATS in their last 29 games in November, and 2-6 ATS in their last eight games overall.

The Jets’ high hopes for this year after 10 victories in 2015 were dashed early, and now they’re officially in “young player evaluation” mode. New England, meanwhile, is as focused and consistent a team as you’ll find in today’s NFL and they’re cruising toward yet another division title. I don’t think there’s much chance the Jets get close in this game, unless the Pats go out and lay an egg. If you’re betting on a bad game from New England, however, you’ll lose much more often than not. I’ll go with the obvious choice and take the Patriots here.
