The Redskins host the GIants in what is shaping up to be a Monday Night Football classic.

In what many are calling the game of the week between NFC East rivals on the grandest stage of them all the Washington Redskins host the New York Giants on Monday Night Football with monumental playoff implications and possibly the division title at stake. The Giants are coming off an impressive home field victory over the Green Bay Packers in which the end result was never in doubt while the Skins are coming off an equally impressive win in Dallas on Thanksgiving that has propelled the Skins back into the conversation of playoff contender.

After a lackluster stretch of 3 games leading into the bye week including a beat down in Cincinnati the New York Giants took some time to regroup and boy did it work. The G-Men came out flying against one of the league’s best teams in Green Bay and absolutely mopped the floor with them and looking like Superbowl champs in the process. Eli manning who hadn’t thrown a touchdown pass in 4 games was back on track and the ground game led by Ahmad Bradshaw was critical as the Giants snapped their losing ways and look as though their primed to make a playoff run once again. Standing in their way in the NFC East is a team that not many had pegged as being a playoff contender but the Washington Redskins have turned up the heat in the last few weeks and look as though they’re pushing towards making the postseason and even challenging the Giants for the division title. The Giants did lose serviceable backup and 3 rd down back Andre Brown for the season with a broken fibula which will lead to a greater workload for Bradshaw unless Tom Coughlin decides to let the leash loose on rookie running back David Wilson but with his inability to block I think his touches will be limited.

The Redskins looked like a playoff team in Dallas last week as they got off to a fast start and never looked back en route to a massive road victory that could define their season. Robert Griffin has been very special to watch this season as the first year pivot has put the team on his back and he hasn’t disappointed. Griffin, and fellow rookie phenom Alfred Morris have been the catalyst of the Redskins offense this season and with speedster Pierre Garcon back in the mix the Redskins could make a serious push here especially if they can upend the Giants on Monday Night Football. The Redskins defense has been a subject of concern this season and with the Giants ability to open up a game through the air and on the ground they have to be a little bit worried but on the contrary they do have the offensive firepower to make some noise as well especially if the Giants revert back to their pre bye-week slump. All things considered I getting the home team as a dog on a MOnday night in a game that means more for the SKins than it does for the Giants has me leaning towards the home team although the Giants are very dangerous and its never a good idea to bet against them especially after flexing their muscles against the Packers. Nontheless... SKins plus the points for me.
