The Buccaneers and the Eagles face off on Sunday in Tampa Bay.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Philadelphia Eagles face off on Sunday in NFL Football action at Raymond James Stadium.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are very much in the playoff mix and as one of the NFL’s surprise teams they aren’t sneaking up on anyone anymore. Josh Freeman has completed 55.9 percent of his passes for 23 touchdowns and eight interceptions while being sacked 17 times. Doug Martin has rushed for 1,106 yards averaging 4.7 yards per carry with nine touchdowns and he has 32 receptions. Vincent Jackson has 50 catches and seven touchdowns, Mike Williams has 43 catches and six touchdowns, and Dallas Clark has 34 catches and four touchdowns. Defensively the Buccaneers allow 23.8 points, 82.3 rushing yards, and 309.4 passing yards with 17 interceptions and 18 sacks. Lavonte David has 108 tackles, Mason Foster has 79 tackles, and Michael Bennett has seven sacks. The Buccaneers will look to avoid last year’s late season collapse.

The Philadelphia Eagles are a team in disarray but even so they have a talent filled roster and have the ability to make plays. Nick Foles remains at QB where he has completed 60.9 percent of his passes with two touchdowns and three interceptions. Bryce Brown has been tearing it up in the backfield averaging 6.5 yards per carry with four touchdowns but the Eagles can only hope he can mentally keep it together. Brent Celek has 50 catches, Jeremy Maclin has 44 catches, and DeSean Jackson has 45 catches but he has been out of action recently. Defensively the Eagles allow 26.7 points, 117.9 rushing yards, and 233.6 passing yards with seven interceptions and 20 sacks. DeMeco Ryans has 91 tackles, Kurt Coleman has 77 tackles, and Nate Allen has 61 tackles. This has been a season to forget in Philadelphia and one that will end with plenty of change from top to bottom.

Tampa Bay is 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six games overall, 5-1 against the spread following a loss, and 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 home games against a team with a losing home record. Philadelphia is 7-18-1 against the spread following a loss, 1-7-1 against the spread against the NFC, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall.

The Eagles are simply bad this year but this is too many points to be laying with the Bucs who I see winning the game but not covering.

Mitch’s Pick: Philadelphia +8
