After scoring 10 goals in their first two games of the season the Winnipeg Jets have struggled to find the back of the net during their three game losing streak. After a 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks last Sunday the Jets have scored just two goals, losing 2-1 and 4-1 to the Minnesota Wild and Dallas Stars. This might be a problem all year for a club that is relying heavily on players like Evander Kane, Blake Wheeler, and Andrew Ladd. For whatever reason Kane has still yet to come into his own as a dynamic young player despite all the talent he posesses. It's difficult to be consistent night after night in this league and Kane needs to figure out how to do that. Ladd and Wheeler both had great years last season but expecting them to those types of players offensively again is a lot to ask for. Winnipeg will need some serious production from blue liners like Dustin Byfuglien and Tobias Enstrom if they're going to compete.

They'll be hosting a New Jersey Devils club that's still searching for their first win of the season heading into their sixth game of the year on Sunday night. The Devils haven't played that poorly but they're not making plays when it counts and right now they just need something to break their way to get on track here. They couldn't hold a lead on two different occasions against the Calgary Flames on Friday night and ended up falling by a score of 3-2 in regulation. Adam Henrique and Dainius Zubrus scored for the Devils while Martin Brodeur made 26 saves in the loss. At this point the Devils might benefit from picking a goaltender and sticking with him for a little while. Yes, they've got a legend in Brodeur that can do no wrong in the eyes of the organization, but they didn't go out and trade a top 10 draft pick this summer so Cory Schneider could play 40 games. This hockey club needs to know who their guy is and they need some consistency back there. The schedule doesn't get easier any time soon for the Devils.
