The Washington Capitals and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from Rogers Arena on Tuesday night.

The Washington Capitals will look to rebound from a 5-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils in their last game. Alex Ovechkin has a team-high 21 points with a team-high 11 goals and 10 assists. Dylan Strome also has 17 points with 12 assists while Evgeny Kuznetsov also has a team-high 13 assists as part of his 16 points up to this point in the year. Darcy Kuemper has gone 7-9-1 with a 2.60 GAA and an .914 save percentage while Charlie Lindgren is 2-2-2 with a 3.41 GAA and an .894 save percentage this season.

The Vancouver Canucks will try to add to their current three-game win streak after a 4-3 OT win over San Jose last time out. Elias Pettersson leads the Canucks with 27 points including a team-high 16 assists with 6 goals while Bo Horvat has 24 points with a team-high 17 goals and 7 assists. J.T. Miller has 23 points with 11 goals while Quinn Hughes has 21 assists and Andrei Kuzmenko has 21 points with 11 goals and 10 assists. Thatcher Demko’s gone 3-8-2 with a 3.81 GAA and an .885 save percentage while Spencer Martin’s 6-1-1 with a 3.12 GAA and a .907 save percentage so far this season in goal for Vancouver.

Washington is 3-13 in their last 16 road games and 4-10 in their last 14 games overall while the over is 9-2 in their last 11 games against the Pacific division. Vancouver is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 3-12 in their last 15 games against the Eastern Conference while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 home games.

I get the reasoning for backing either side here, but there’s a reason that Washington are underdogs here. The Capitals are just banged up like nobody’s business right now and the Canucks are just playing some of their best hockey of the season so far. I’m not really looking to step in front of the Canucks right now, which is weird to say considering I wouldn’t have said that 2-3 weeks ago. Give me the Canucks here.
