The Kings and Coyotes find themselves in a deadlock in the Pacific division and they’ll look to separate themselves when they meet at Jobing.com Arena.

The Kings have been pegged as one of the teams to beat not only in their division, and conference, but in the entire NHL this season as they have the depth and experience to win a Stanley Cup. Jonathan Quick is certainly one of the best goalies in the NHL and gives his team a chance to win every night and with the amount of talent they have at both ends of the rink there is no arguing they’re going to be a team to watch out for this year. Los Angeles has played 12 games this season and sport an 8-4 mark but with the way the West has dominated the East this season that is only good enough for fifth place in the Pacific division as the Sharks, Ducks, Canucks, and Coyotes all sit with a better mark. LA will look to secure their fifth road win of the season but in order to do so they’ll have to hand the Coyotes their first loss in regulation in Arizona.

Phoenix Coyotes vs. Los Angeles Kings - 10/29/13

Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Spor

Phoenix has been a very tough team to play against this year which has been their mantra over the past few seasons and at this rate they’ll be back in the playoffs once again. For the first time in what seems like five years there are no discussions about relocating the Coyotes as they have finally established a firm ownership group and as such they can focus on bringing players in and on developing their on ice talent. Phoenix is definitely a defense first type of team as they have great goaltending and a solid core of defensemen  but they do have some guys who can score as well which validates their 7-3-2 mark this season. However, these games against the Kings are always a grudge match and it really does come down to a coin flip and in that circumstance I’d rather side with the better goaltender and deeper team and to me in both of those cases it’s the Kings. Taking a shot with LA but don’t like this game too much on a card that is filled with better options.
