The Edmonton Oilers and the Tampa Bay Lightning meet in NHL action from the Amalie Arena on Tuesday night.

The Edmonton Oilers will be looking to snap a three-game losing skid after a 5-4 loss to Washington on Monday. Connor McDavid leads the Oilers with 27 points including a team-high 13 goals and 14 assists while Leon Draisaitl has 25 points with a team-high 17 assists. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman each have 15 points with Hyman logging 6 goals and 9 assists and RNH putting up 7 goals and 8 helpers. Jack Campbell’s posted a record of 5-3 with a 4.20 GAA and an .874 save percentage while Stuart Skinner’s gone 2-3 with a 2.62 GAA and a .928 save percentage in goal for Edmonton this season.

The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to build on their 5-3 win over Buffalo in their last game.  Nikita Kucherov leads the Lightning with 20 points including a team-high 14 assists while Steven Stamkos has 13 points with a team-high 7 goals on the year. Brayden Point also has 13 points with 6 goals and 7 assists this season. Andrei Vasilevskiy is 4-3-1 with a 2.87 GAA and a .911 save percentage while Brian Elliott is 3-1 with a 3.27 GAA and a .895 save percentage so far between the pipes for Tampa Bay.

Edmonton is 5-2 in their last 7 games overall and 5-2 in their last 7 road games while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games overall. Tampa Bay is 36-15 in their last 51 home games and 3-7 in their last 10 games following a win while the over is 5-0-1 in their last 6 games following a win.

I get the case to be made for the Oilers as a dog here, as any time you can get Connor McDavid at plus money, it’s worth considering. However, the goaltending for Edmonton continues to be extremely shaky and that’s not what you want going against a Lightning team that has a ton of firepower when called upon, especially at home. I just think the Oilers are up against it here, so I’ll side with the Lightning at home here.
