The San Jose Sharks head into Calgary looking to avenge an overtime loss while the Flames look to snap a three game losing skid.
The San Jose Sharks are going through their toughest part of the schedule to date as they have lost six of their last 10 contests yet only sit with two losses on the year as four of those six have come in overtime or in a shootout. The Sharks continue to grab points even when they aren’t playing their best and that is incredibly scary for the rest of the league as they’re bound to break out of their funk soon. The Sharks have a very deep team and are loaded down the middle and should once again challenge for the Western Conference title. The Sharks head into Calgary to take on a struggling Flames team who despite playing above expectations at the beginning of the year have hit reality in a big way and should remain at the bottom of the league for the rest of the season.

The Flames are going through an overhaul and will likely deal some pieces throughout the year or at the trade deadline to acquire some prospects and draft picks. The biggest piece the Flames need to address is a top six forward and a goaltender as the combo of Karri Ramo and Reto Berra certainly aren’t the answer for the future. Calgary heads into this one as losers of three straight and sit 11 points back of the Sharks in the Pacific division and with a loss tonight that mark will continue to expand. While the Sharks are huge favourites and the Flames actually play teams tough at home I don’t think they’re a match here as San Jose takes its frustrations out and get back in the win column.
