TV:

With just one game on the NHL schedule yesterday, hockey fans were going through withdrawal symptoms. Not to worry, though; it’s back in a big way this evening, with 11 games on the NHL schedule. While we’re waiting for the pucks to drop, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players and storylines out there. Here’s the latest.

Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: Rask really likes playing the Lightning. He posted another shutout against Tampa Bay--his second against them thisyear--in a 3-0 victory in yesterday’s sole NHL matchup. He posted 28 saves in the win and has only allowed one goal to Tampa Bay in three games.
In addition to losing the game, the Lightning also lost stars Steven Stamkos and Sami Salo to injuries, so the effects of this one could remain for quite a while. They’re both dealing with leg injuries. Stamkos’ in particular looks to be pretty serious; he suffered a broken right tibia and is out indefinitely. Salo, meanwhile, is doubtful for tonight’s game in Montreal.
