After back-to-back losses the Boston Bruins have rebounded to rack up three consecutive wins. Boston has outscored their opponents 10-2 over that stretch and they're back to play the type of Bruins hockey that we've come to know over the past few years. Monday afternoon they hosted the Tampa Bay Lightning and while after the game all the talk was about Steven Stamkos and his injury the bigger story for Boston was the play of Tuukka Rask. This is a goaltender that the organization trusted after Tim Thomas departed and so far he has proven the Bruins right. Rask is calm in goal and he has thrived since becoming Boston's No.1 netminder. Rask made 28 saves on Monday afternoon and recorded his second shutout of the year. Rask already has 10 wins on the season and is sporting a 1.53 goals against average to go along with a .948 save percentage. He's one of the best goalies in the league and Boston has a great team to go along with it. Boston will be hosting the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night who come into the game losers of six of their last seven. Sure, the Blue Jackets have had some close contests mixed in there but this is a hockey club in Columbus that just can't find a way to get wins right now. The Blue Jackets rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the third period against the Washington Capitals but ended up allowing Washington to score with under two minute remaining in regulation to tie the game at 3-3. Alexander Ovechkin eventually won it for the Capitals in overtime and Sergei Bobrovsky and the Blue Jackets struggles continued. Bobrovsky was so good last year and while it was expected he wouls regress a little this season no one would have thought he would be this bad. Columbus needs to get their goaltender right before anything else because if that doesn't happen the Blue Jackets don't have any chance this year. Brandon Dubinsky is leading the Blue Jackets with 15 points this season but Columbus needs Marian Gaborik to step his game up because 11 points in 17 matches is not going to cut it. This team doesn't have enough offensive firepower to get by without Gaborik contributing. It has been ugly for the Blue Jackets lately and a match up with the Bruins in Boston at the TD Garden doesn't make things any easier for them.
