It was only a matter of time before the Philadelphia Flyers started to put the puck in the net. The Flyers have so much offensive talent that the most surprising part about their slow start to the season has been the fact that it's the offense that can't get things going and the defense that's keeping them afloat. The Flyers have gotten everything they could have hoped for out of Steve Mason in goal and though the firing of Peter Laviolette didn't do too much for this hockey club initially, the Flyers finally seem to have found their groove. If you're a Philadelphia fan the best part about their last two wins is that they've gotten the offensive production without sacrificing the defense. That's the type of recipe that head coach Craig Berube is hoping the Flyers can continue with for the remainder of the season. If the Flyers can be consistent they should have no problem getting back into the playoff race.

Meanwhie in Winnipeg the Jets are crusing right now with three straight victories and to their credit they've come against some formidable competition. After a 5-0 dismantling of the Nashville Predators last Friday night the Jets came back with consecutive one goal wins over the San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings. Bryan Little scored his 11th goal of the season against the Red Wings and Zach Bogosian added his first of the season but the Jets still need Ondrej Pavelec to come up big in the shootout to take down Detroit. The win improved Winnipeg's record to 9-9-2 and with four of their next five games coming up on home ice the Jets have a great chance to really move above the .500 mark for good if they can keep playing the way they have over the past week. This is a great game on Friday night because we've got two teams in Winnipeg and Philadelphia that both need to keep the good vibes going or else things might start to spiral downward quickly.
