Ever since James Neal returned to the Pittsburgh Penguins lineup Evgeni Malkin seems to be getting back at track. That's great news for a Penguins club that hit a little bit of a skid there for a while and was having trouble scoring goals. Malkin is a dynamic player, one of the best in the world when he's on his game. For whatever reason it seemed like Malkin just didn't have the same energy and drive with Neal missing from the lineup. Now that Neal is back and the Penguins have Malkin and Sidney Crosby going again they should be able to put a stretch together here sometime soon. Pittsburgh had won three straight games before falling 3-2 in Montreal on Saturday night. Marc-Andre Fleury couldn't stop Max Pacioretty in this one, allowing the Connecticut native to score twice. Two Montreal goals in the first 2:25 of the third period did the Penguins in. Pittsburgh will need a better effort on Monday if they're going to beat the Boston Bruins. This Bruins team bullied the Penguins last season during the Eastern Conference finals and they gave everybody in the league the blue print for how you beat Pittsburgh. The Penguins know that this is one of the teams they will need to get through if they want to win a Stanley Cup and they also know that at some point they will have to match the Bruins and their physicality. There's no better place to start than in this on on Monday night. Boston has lost just three times in the month of November and two of those games were one goal defeats. The Bruins don't beat themselves and Tuukka Rask is one of the best goaltenders in the league right now so it makes them a very difficult opponent each and every night because the Bruins aren't going to make many mistakes. Saturday afternoon wasn't the greatest effort from the Bruins but they outworked the Carolina Hurricanes all day and David Krejci got the game winning goal in overtime to give the Bruins a 3-2 win. Boston knows that the Penguins will be looking to prove something in these meetings during the regular season. Regardless of what happens Boston and Pittsburgh both know that the playoffs are a completely different ball game.
