It was an outstanding performance from the Dallas Stars on Tuesday night when they hosted the Anaheim Ducks. There are a lot of unknown players on this hockey club but there is a ton of young talent that understands their roles, and that makes this a team that can be very dangerous moving forward. Players like Antonie Roussel, Alex Chiasson, Ryan Garbutt, and Valeri Nischushkin are all the types of players that don't get much publicity but can be huge factors to a successful hockey club. On Tuesday night against the Ducks the Stars got two goals from Roussel, one from Garbutt and Chiasson, and Cody Eakin and Stephane Robidas chipped in as well on the back end. Dallas scored three times in less than a minute and five times overall in the third period as they reallied to take down the Ducks 6-3. The biggest issue for the Stars right now is that there is always a learning curve and a level of inconsistency with young players. We've seen that already this year from the Stars but there's enough there to feel very good about this organization moving forward. Friday night Dallas will get a chance to take down another power hosue in the Western Conference as the Chicago Blackhawks come to town. Chicago is off to just another incredible start to the season, sitting at 18-4-4 and leading the Central Division. The Blackhawks have won four straight games after rallying on Wednesday night to take down the Flames in Calgary. Chicago fell behind 2-0 just over two minutes into the third period but Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp scored less than a minute apart to tie the game at 2-2, and Kane won it with his second of the game and 15th of the season with just 18 seconds remaining in regulation. Antti Raanta recorded his first win of the season in goal, making 19 saves in the game. Chicago is going to be the favorites yet again this season unless something dramatic happens but they might be looking at a potential first round match up when they play in Dallas. The Blackhawks are the best team in the league but Dallas might have something to prove here in this one.
