The Detroit Red Wings and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Centre on Sunday.

The Detroit Red Wings will look to snap a five-game losing streak after their 5-2 loss to the Senators in the first leg of the home-and-home set. Dylan Larkin leads Detroit in scoring with 63 points including a team-high 28 goals while Tyler Bertuzzi has 54 points with 26 goals this season. Lucas Raymond has 52 points with 22 goals and 30 apples. Moritz Seider also has 39 assists so far this season. Alex Nedeljkovic is 17-21-8 with a 3.31 GAA and a .900 save percentage in goal for Detroit while Thomas Greiss is 8-11-1 with a 3.79 GAA and an .885 save percentage this season.

The Ottawa Senators will look to build on the win over Detroit, splitting their last four games. Brady Tkachuk leads the Sens in scoring with 47 points including 23 goals and 24 assists while Drake Batherson has 36 points with 23 assists and Josh Norris has 40 points with a team-high 27 goals on the year. Tim Stutzle also has 41 points with 14 goals and 27 assists. Anton Forsberg is 15-14-3 with a 2.74 GAA and a .919 save percentage this season for Ottawa in goal.

Detroit is 19-73 in their last 92 road games and 59-132 in their last 191 games overall while the over is 3-0-1 in their last 4 games against a team with a losing record. Ottawa is 5-12 in their last 17 games overall and 1-4 in their last 5 home games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 Sunday games.

I get the case to be made for an underdog in certain spots, and I’m not rushing to the window to back Ottawa. However, it beats the alternative which is backing this Detroit team on the road which has burned your money for the last couple of years if you had backed the Red Wings in every road games they’ve played. Again, Ottawa’s not a world-beater, but they just beat up on the Red Wings in Detroit’s own digs and I think the Sens complete the home-and-home sweep here.
