The Los Angeles Kings look to put an end to Montreal’s winning ways as the teams meet up at the Bell Centre on Tuesday night.
The Kings will look to pull off what only one other team has done in the last 10 contests and that is hand the Montreal Canadiens a defeat. Los Angeles is in the midst of a winning streak of their own as they have won their last three contests and have just a single regulation loss in their last 10 contests putting them a single point up on the Habs in the overall league standings. The Kings are a very tough team to beat and it doesn’t matter if it is home or away as they have the talent to beat anybody on any given night and that includes the Canadiens. Los Angeles has had to use Ben Scrivens over the past few weeks as their number one goaltender in Jonathan Quick has been sidelined with an injury but the former Maple Leafs goaltender has been brilliant in relief and will be going for his eighth victory of the season here tonight. Scrivens will likely face off against Carey Price in a battle of two of the top goalies in the league this season as both sport miniscule goals against averages.

The Canadiens are on a roll right now and are the league’s hottest team with their aforementioned 9-0-1 mark in their last 10 contests and 19-9-3 mark on the season. For their efforts, the Habs have launched themselves into second place in the Atlantic division and are in third place in the Eastern Conference and a large part of their success stems from the play of Carey Price in goal. Montreal has a nice young core of forwards that have stepped up in a big way this year as the likes of Max Pacioretty, Brendan Gallagher, and Alex Galchenyuk have been brilliant for the Canadiens and they’ll look to continue that success against a well experienced Kings team who is two years removed from winning the Stanley Cup. This will be a great contest between two hard fighting, physical teams that are deep at both ends and while I love the side in this game I will be giving that out in the Premium Area. For the free play I think the under is the only way to go despite the offenses of both teams being strong as I think Price and Scrivens put on a show.
