The St. Louis Blues and the Ottawa Senators meet in NHL action from the Canadian Tire Center on Tuesday night.

The St. Louis Blues will hope to build on a 5-1 win over Chicago in their last game. Jordan Kyrou leads the Blues in scoring with 43 points including a team-high 18 goals and 25 assists while Vladimir Tarasenko has 41 points with 16 goals and 25 assists. Pavel Buchnevich has 38 points with 15 goals and 23 assists and Ivan Barbashev has 34 points, logging 15 goals. Robert Thomas leads the Blues with 28 assists as well this season. Jordan Binnington’s seen the bulk of St. Louis’ action in goal, going 11-10-3 with a 3.35 GAA and an .898 save percentage while Ville Husso is 10-3-1 with a 1.84 GAA and a .941 save percentage this season.

The Ottawa Senators will look to build on a 4-1 win over Washington last time out. Drake Batherson leads Ottawa in scoring with 34 points including a team-high 21 assists with 13 goals as well while Brady Tkachuk has 34 points with 15 goals and 19 assists. Josh Norris has 26 points with a team-high 18 goals while Thomas Chabot also has 24 points with 21 assists of his own this season. Matt Murray’s posted a 5-8-2 mark with a 2.58 GAA and a .922 save percentage between the pipes for Ottawa this season.

St. Louis is 13-3 in their last 16 games as a favorite and 5-0 in their last 5 games playing on 2 day’s rest while the under is 4-0-1 in their last 5 games as a road favorite. Ottawa is 13-38 in their last 51 Tuesday games and 5-13 in their last 18 games as a home underdog while the under is 21-5-3 in their last 29 games against a team with a losing record.

I get the case to be made for Ottawa as a home underdog, but the Sens have been really all or nothing as of late. When they win, they’re scoring 4 goals per game but in two losses since the all-star break, they’ve been shut out in both. St. Louis is the far better and far more consistent team here and if we see the same all or in this case nothing approach that Ottawa’s taken against the better teams on their schedule, it could be a long night for Ottawa. Give me St. Louis -1.5 here.
