Martin Jones and the red hot Los Angeles Kings welcome the Dallas Stars on Monday night.
The Dallas Stars have to be disappointed after jumping out to a two goal lead in San Jose on Saturday night, then letting the lead slip away in an eventual loss in shootouts. The Stars will try to regain focus against a Los Angeles team that is playing very well. Dallas comes into the contest ranked 9th in the NHL with 2.8 goals per game, so the Stars have shown the ability to score.

The real story in this game is the emergence of rookie goaltender Martin Jones for the Kings. Jones looks to set a NHL record with his ninth consecutive winning start to begin his career. Over the last eight games Jones is 8-0-0 with a .98 GAA. Jones may have shown some vulnerability by giving up a two goal lead to Colorado in his last outing; however, he bounced back in the shootout to help the Kings secure a victory.
The Stars will be short on the defensive end after losing Gonchar, who was struck in the face with the puck on Saturday night. Dallas is 1-9 in their last 10 road games against a home team with a winning percentage above .600, and the club only has one win in its last 5 road contests. Dallas has been an unlucky team at times this year, and I think this is yet another bad spot as the Stars are running into the hottest goaltender in the NHL. The Kings have won five straight home games and 9 of 10. I suggest looking at the regulation line here, but I lean to the puck line with the Kings.
