The Philadelphia Flyers and the Vancouver Canucks meet in NHL action from Rogers Arena on Thursday night.

The Philadelphia Flyers come into this game on the second half of a back-to-back after taking on the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday. Joel Farabee leads the Flyers with 6 points coming on 3 goals and 3 assists while Keith Yandle has a team-high 5 assists and Sean Couturier has 5 points with a goal and 4 assists including a team-high 3 power play points this season. Cam Atkinson has a team-high 4 goals as well as a team best +8 plus/minus rating this season. Carter Hart’s seen the majority of the early action in goal for the Flyers, going 1-1-1 with a 2.64 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

The Vancouver Canucks come into this game looking to shake off a 3-2 loss to the Minnesota Wild in their last matchup. Conor Garland and J.T. Miller share the team lead with 8 points apiece, with Garland logging 3 goals and 5 assists and a team-high +4 plus/minus rating while Miller has a team-high 7 assists and a team-high 4 power play points. Quinn Hughes and Bo Horvat each have 5 points with Horvat logging a team-high 4 goals this season. Thatcher Demko’s started the bulk of games in goal for Vancouver, going 3-2-1 with a 2.62 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

Philadelphia is 1-4 in their last 5 road games and 9-20 in their last 29 games as an underdog while the over is 6-1 in their last 7 games against the Pacific division. Vancouver is 1-4 in their last 5 home games and 7-15 in their last 22 games overall while the under is 8-3-1 in their last 12 games as a favorite.

I can understand the case to be made both ways as Philadelphia has a solid team that plays physical hockey while Vancouver has a bunch of young stars that are only getting better with time. With that said, this Flyers team hasn’t been all that great and while I’m not fully sold on the Canucks, I do think they’re the better team and at home I’ll side with Vancouver in this spot.
