The St Louis Blues travel to the Motor City to battle the Detroit Red Wings on Monday.
St Louis heads to Joe Louis Arena looking for a bit of momentum following a 3-2 loss to visiting Anaheim that saddled the team with defeats in three of four. The Ducks responded well from their loss at Chicago which snapped an eight game winning streak as they took a 3-0 lead after 40 minutes and survived a late Blues rally. The home team received goals from Jaden Schwartz and Barrett Jackman with the former cutting the Ducks lead to 3-2 with over five minutes left but St Louis never found the equalizer. Brian Elliott absorbed the loss with 18 stops as Anaheim has come out on top in the last five of six versus the Blues.

Detroit picked up an improbable 3-2 shootout victory over the Kings with a contoversial goal that was ruled not reviewable by the league. Trailing 2-1 in the third Niklas Kronwall's shot hit the netting behind the Los Angeles goal before bouncing off the back of LAK goalie Jonathan Quick to light the lamp with less then a minute left to send the game in to OT. Thomas Tater scored the only goal in the shootout with Henrik Zetterberg also scoring and adding an assist. The odd tally was a welcome break for a Red Wings squad that was coming in off of back to back shutouts with Jimmy Howard picking up the win with a 30 stop performance.
Detroit has dominated this match up through the years but they are banged up and neither team has looked great as of late. I don't think either squad is a great bet but for now I'll throw this out there but might sit this out...
