The Calgary Flames take a trip to the west coast where they take the ice with the San Jose Sharks.
I think all hockey fans and most sports fans in general are aware of the all out brawl between Vancouver and the visiting Flames with both starting lineups dropping the gloves immediately after the opening faceoff. The result was eight players ejected for the game and oh...by the way...the Canucks came away with a 3-2 shootout victory with Chris Higgins scoring in the fifth round. Calgary squandered leads twice with Mark Giordano's power play tally to go up 1-0 before Matt Stajan lit the lamp four minutes in to the third for a 2-1 lead. Karri Ramo played well in the loss with 31 saves including five in overtime.

San Jose survived a career four goal assault from Martin St. Louis to upend Tampa Bay by a 5-4 count on the road. In a game where the defense relied on the respective goaltenders to make saves Antti Niemi 'outdualed' Ben Bishop to register the win with a 25 stop performance. The Sharks offense was much more balanced then the Lightning but still needed to rally from a 4-2 deficit in the middle frame and did so behind three consecutive tallies from Joe Pavelski for his first ever hat trick. Patrick Marleau and Matt Nieto also lit the lamp with Marleau also posting a pair of assists.
I think it's easy to take the better team and call it a day but the odds on the Sharks make them unplayable in my view. I would stick them in a money line parlay or perhaps a -1 puck line but the value isn't very good...
