The Minnesota Wild may be a banged up team, but they’ve still managed to win seven of their last nine games. They’ll take their act on the road to play an ice cold Dallas Stars team that can’t seem to put together a solid 60 minutes of hockey.
Even with goalie Josh Harding placed on the IR, Darcy Kuemper has done a nice job in filling in with wins in four of his last five starts. The Wild are also dealing with injuries to center Mikko Koivu and left wing Zach Parise, who are recovering from ankle and leg injuries. Even with many key players not on the ice, Minnesota continues to find ways to win and is a tough team to play on any given night due to the remarkable goaltending.

Meanwhile, Dallas continues to struggle, winning only one game in the month of January (article published before Nashville game). The Stars continue to give up goals by the truckload, giving up five, six and even seven goals on any given night. The goals against is good for 26th in the NHL, which likely isn’t going to fly against a disciplined Minnesota team.
Not only are the Wild playing better hockey as of late, but they have also had the Stars number for quite some time. Minnesota is 4-1 in its last five games against Dallas and are 5-1 in its last six against teams in the Western Conference. Minnesota has a long history of struggling in Dallas, but you have to think that trend changes on Tuesday with the way both teams have played over the last month.
Forget the injuries and the home ice advantage, pick Minnesota with a good amount of confidence.
