The Winnipeg Jets stay on the road to take the ice with the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
Winnipeg seemed like an unlikely choice to hand Anaheim their first regulation defeat on the season but when the smoke had cleared the unlikely became reality with the Jets skating away with a 3-2 victory on Tuesday. The suddenly hot Jets notched win number four in a row with Andrew Ladd and Blake Wheeler each scoring while Evander Kane found the back of the net and added an assist in a brillient return from a four game hiatus. Ondrej Pavelec was the hero with a 40 save performance as he stood tall after a Nick Bonino gave the Ducks life with a goal midway through the final frame to cut the lead to 3-2.

San Jose made the first contest of a four game homestand a good one with a 3-2 decision over Calgary on Monday. A red hot Joe Pavelski found the net twice after posting his first career hat trick in a three goal performance in a 5-4 win at Tampa Bay to give him 27 goals on the year. Tommy Wingels added the other goal as the Sharks completed a three game sweep of the Flames with Antti Niemi picking up the win with a 21 stop effort. The slumping Flames have dropped seven of eight with Jiri Hudler and Kevin Westgarth scoring and Karri Ramo recording 24 saves in absorbing the loss.
San Jose is the better team playing at home but so was Anaheim and we know what Winnipeg did there. The Jets are hot and have nothing to lose which makes them a dangerous opponent. I would rather bet something small at the big plus money or look elsewhere although I lean over...
