TV:

Compared to last night’s heavy schedule, the NHL will be slowing down quite a bit tonight. That said, there are still five games on the slate, so there will be no shortage of coverage for hockey fans. In the meantime, let’s take a look at some of the noteworthy players out there who are making headlines this morning. Here’s the latest.

Kevin Shattenkirk, D, St. Louis Blues: Shattenkirk had a nice homecoming in New York last night. He got to play the hero, notching the game-winning goal for a 2-1 Blues victory over the Rangers. That gives him eight goals to go along with his 27 assists so far this season.
The Blues’ current road trip will come to an end tomorrow in New York against the Islanders. After that, they’ll be back home to face New Jersey on Tuesday.

Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins: The Penguins had their offense clicking against the Islanders last night, and Crosby had another breakout game. He managed a goal and two assists in the 6-4 win, which gives him 27 scores and 45 helpers on the year. Chris Kunitz also posted a goal and two assists himself.
Pittsburgh will close out their four-game week tomorrow in Dallas. They’ll kick off next week on Monday at home against Buffalo.

Jamie Benn, C, Dallas Stars: Speaking of clicking offenses, the Stars put up an offensive barrage against the Maple Leafs last night. Benn was in facilitator mode with his three assists, but also got in on the scoring action with a goal in the 7-1 rout. Valeri Nichushkin also contributed heavily with two scores and a helper.
The Stars will host Pittsburgh tomorrow, then start out next week with a home game against Colorado on Monday.

Joe Pavelski, C, San Jose Sharks: Pavelski certainly earned his paycheck last night. He ran his points streak to four games, providing the game-winning goal against Winnipeg. The score came at the 6:48 mark in the third, and was the only action in the 1-0 victory. Alex Stalock held strong for the Sharks defensively, tallying 20 saves.
San Jose closes out the week at home tomorrow against Minnesota. They’ll kick off a busy four-game set next week when the Kings come to town Monday.

NHL Daily Schedule: 10 teams will be in action tonight, so there’s a good chance we’ll be seeing a few good games out there. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying each game.
