The Buffalo Sabres go on the road to take the ice with the Columbus Blue Jackets Saturday evening.
Buffalo couldn't find their defense and the attack couldn't make up the difference in a 5-3 loss to visiting Carolina on Thursday. The Sabres actually led 3-2 less then a minute into the third before the Hurricanes ripped off three consecutive goals to win going away to send the struggling home team to loss number five in a row. Cody Hodgson, Brian Flynn and Tyler Ennis posted goals with each giving Buffalo the lead they were not able to hold. Jhonas Enroth absorbed the loss in a 28 save performance with the Canes receiving goals from Andrej Sekera, Jeff Skinner and Alexander Semin who tallied twice with Jiri Tlusty notching an empty netter.

The offense exploded and the defense survived a shaky second frame to lead Columbus to a 5-2 victory over visiting Philadelphia. A balanced offense received goals from five different players while former Philly netminder Sergei Bobrovsky got the win on the strength of a 26 save performance. Derek MacKenzie, Jack Johnson, Brandon Dubinsky, Nathan Horton and Matt Calvert each scored for the surging Blue Jackets who rolled to a club record eight consecutive victories. The up and down Flyers saw Vincent Lecavalier and Brayden Schenn each scored in the middle frame while Ray Emery took the loss with 34 stops.
We have two teams heading in the opposite direction with Columbus hot and at home facing a Buffalo club that has been in a funk. Neither streak will last forever but for now I'll side with the hotter team...
