The Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins meet in NHL action from the TD Garden on Wednesday night.

The Montreal Canadiens will look to rebound from a 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers in their last game. Nick Suzuki leads the Habs in scoring with 19 points including a team-high 7 goals and 12 assists while Tyler Toffoli also has 12 assists with his 17 points and Josh Anderson’s posted a team-high 7 goals this season. Jake Allen has seen the majority of the action in goal for Montreal, going 5-15-2 with a 3.10 GAA and a .903 save percentage this season.

The Boston Bruins will try to build on their 7-3 win over Washington last time out. Brad Marchand leads the Bruins in scoring with 36 points including team-highs of 16 goals and 20 assists while David Pastrnak’s posted 27 points with 13 goals and 14 assists and Patrice Bergeron has 26 points with 11 goals and 15 assists as well. Taylor Hall and Charlie McAvoy each have 15 assists of their own with McAvoy posting a team-high +8 plus/minus rating as well this season. Linus Ullmark’s posted an 11-5 mark with a 2.57 GAA and a .917 save percentage between the pipes for the Bruins while Jeremy Swayman is 8-6-2 with a 2.26 GAA and a .918 save percentage this season.

Montreal is 5-22 in their last 27 games as an underdog and 4-18 in their last 22 games as a road underdog while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games played on 1 day’s rest. Boston is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall and 5-0 in their last 5 games against the Eastern Conference while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.

I get the allure of plus money with certain teams in an underdog role, but realistically, I’m not looking to back Montreal in any spot. The Habs have been atrocious on the road this season and while the Bruins have not been the same Boston team we’ve been used to seeing in past seasons, they’re still by far the better team here and should have no issue winning this one by a couple of goals. Give me Boston -1.5 here.
