The Joe Louis Arena will be rocking when the Vancouver Canucks take on the Detroit Red Wings.
Vancouver rallied from a 2-0 deficit only to eventually drop a 4-3 decision at Winnipeg on Friday. The Jets snapped a 3-3 tie when Devin Setoguchi scored his second goal of the game with just under three minutes left in regulation. Michael Frolik and Zach Bogosian also lit the lamp for the home team while Ondrej Pavelec recorded 23 stops for the win. Jason Garrison and Alexander Edler each scored for the Canucks with Ryan Kessler recording a goal and a pair of helpers while Eddie Lack posted 30 saves in a losing performance. This dropped the Canucks to 4-1 versus the Jets in the last five meetings.

After edging Washingington 4-3 in game number one of a home and home set, the Red Wings defense faltered in a 6-5 overtime defeat in the Nation's Capital on Sunday. Alex Ovechkin recorded the game winner with the man advantage for his league best 39th. Joel Ward scored twice while John Carlson, Jason Chimera and Troy Bouwer also found the back of the net. Detroit who faced three-two score deficits received a hat trick from Gustav Nyquist with Tomas Tater and Justin Abdelkader adding goals. Jimmy Howard did not have his best game with 22 stop with counterpart Michal Neuvirth doing slightly better with 25 savs to get the victory.
Detroit has a 10-11-3-5 record at home which obviously pales next to their winning road record. I think there are better opportunities elsewhere and will watch this line with any changes made two hours before the start...
