The Rangers look to shake off a home loss last night to the lowly Edmonton Oilers as they head to Pittsburgh to take on the East leading Penguins.
The Blue Shirts have been on a tear of late as they seem to be pulling away from the pack in the Metropolitan division as they currently hold the second seed and are locked into the sixth place slot in the Conference. New York had struggles early on this season and a large part of that had to do with the fact their first dozen games were away from home but things have evened out for them and now they are starting to play some strong hockey with the exception of last night. New York will get Henrik Lundqvist in goal in this spot which to me explains why the team played so flat last night against an inferior opponent as they were looking ahead to tonight’s divisional encounter with the overwhelming Pittsburgh Penguins. Lundqvist will go up against Marc-Andre Fleury as both net minders look to get their teams a victory heading into the weekend.

The Penguins meanwhile have bee business as usual as they went on the road and absolutely dusted teams and find themselves as winners of seven of their last 10 contests. Pittsburgh has to be the favourite to come out of the Eastern Conference this season as to me they`re a slight better than the Bruins and the two of them are head and shoulders above the rest as the West has proven best once again in this year`s NHL. Pittsburgh will be without Kris Letang on the blue line as he continues to be sidelined with an undisclosed illness so the slack will have to be picked up by the rest of the Penguins defenders but with the way their offense can produce it won`t be a huge worry. The Pens are the better team here and are playing at home but I like the way New York has been playing of late and to me this is a spot they have been looking forward to for the last couple of weeks. While I`, not sure they get the job done I think they have the personnel to keep this close much like the Sens did earlier this week.
