The Line: Philadelphia Flyers -173 / Calgary Flames +157 --- Over/Under: 5.5 See the Latest Odds

The Flyers look to distance themselves from the rest of the pack in the Metro division as they host the suddenly surging Flames on Saturday afternoon.

The Calgary Flames are doing their best to play their way out of a top draft pick in July as they have really turned on a corner on an otherwise abysmal season and with the Olympic break halting action after the weekend the Flames could find themselves approaching the .500 mark. Calgary is a team in transition and that is ever so apparent with one of their better players this season being a rookie and their leading scorer having battled injury most of the year. Mike Cammalleri is in his second stint with the team but will likely be on the move once again and it could be one of his former teams in LA or Montreal who come calling for the services of Calgary`s top offensive threat as both teams join the pack looking for a top six forward. Calgary has just three losses in their last 10 contests but will be in tough in this one as they take on a Flyers team looking to distance themselves from a handful of teams in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

The Flyers have been one of the game`s bigger disappointments over the last two seasons as they were once considered Stanley Cup contenders and now making the playoffs would be considered an accomplishment. Despite the well-publicized struggles in Philly this season they are still sitting six games above .500 and are right in the mix in the Eastern Conference playoffs thanks in large part to an underwhelming division and the new rules in place that reward three teams from each division and automatic berth into the postseason. Steve Mason has been one of the few bright spots in Philly this season though as the former Calder Trophy winner who wore out his welcome in Columbus has been brilliant in his new digs and certainly gives the Flyers a sense of continuity in goal that has been absent for quite some time. Despite Calgary playing better of late I think they`re in over their heads here and it should be pretty quick and painless for them as they should get this done in 60 minutes.
