TV:

We’ve got a pretty good-looking lineup of NHL games set for tonight (seven in all), so it’ll be a nice evening to be a hockey fan. While we’re waiting on game-time, let’s take our daily look around the league and see which players are making headlines out there. Here’s the latest.

Tuukka Rask, G, Boston Bruins: After dropping five straight to their rival Canadiens, the Bruins finally got one in the W column last night. Rask was the defensive star, snagging 35 of the 36 shots that came his way in a 4-1 road victory. Soderberg, Bergeron, Lucic and Chara each had a goal as Boston handled business on the offensive end.
The Bruins won’t get much time to savor this one. They’re right back in action tonight at home against Phoenix. They’ll wrap up the week on Saturday when the Hurricanes come to town.

Alex Burrows, LW, Vancouver Canucks: It had been a while since Burrows had scored a goal…all season, in fact. He finally broke through last night against Winnipeg, however, logging a pair of scores in a 3-2 shootout victory for Vancouver. In 36 games, Burrows has six assists to go with the two goals.
Tomorrow night the Canucks will head over to visit the Capitals. They’ll continue their four-game road trip Sunday against the Panthers and finish Monday against Tampa Bay.

Matt Duchene, C, Colorado Avalanche: There were a handful of sticks involved in the Avs’ win over the Blackhawks yesterday, but we’ll focus on Duchene first. He logged a goal and an assist in the 3-2 victory, stretching his point streak to nine games. Ryan O’Reilly (goal; assist) and Brad Malone (goal) also contributed on the offensive end.
That’s two in a row for the Avalanche. They’ll finish the week tomorrow at home against Anaheim, then start a three-game trip in Ottawa on Sunday.

Mikael Backlund, C, Calgary Flames: The Flames scored three times in just five shots as their game against the Ducks opened last night. Backlund provided two goals and an assist on the way to a 7-2 victory for Calgary. He now has 16 scores and 17 helpers on the season in 65 appearances.
Let’s look at the Flames’ upcoming schedule. They’ll head to Dallas tomorrow, then close out the week in Phoenix on Friday night. They’ll host Buffalo Tuesday and Nashville Friday, then head to Edmonton next Saturday.

NHL Daily Schedule: 14 teams will be out on the ice tonight, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find a solid matchup or two. Here’s a look at the complete schedule, along with the start times and TV networks carrying each game.
