The Tampa Bay Lightning host the Florida Panthers at the Tampa Bay Times Forum Thursday.
Not enough offense and too little defense sums up Florida's 3-1 defeat at the hands of visiting Phoenix. The struggling Panthers lone tally came at the 8:54 mark of the third when Brandon Pirri notched a power play talley but the home team would get no closer. Radim Vrbata, Mike Ribeiro and Oliver Ekman-Larsson scored for the Coyotes who lit the lamp in each frame with Mike Smith posting 31 stops. Roberto Luongo recorded 23 saves in defeat as the Panthers have dropped seven of nine.

In a back and forth game where neither team blinked, Phoenix skaed away with a 4-3 shootout victory at Tampa Bay on Monday. Radim Vrbata won it in the SO with the Coyotes also receiving goals from Brandon McMillan, Martin Erat and Mikkel Boedker while Mike Smith picked up the win with a 28 save performance. Ondrej Palat lit the lamp twice for the Lightning with Tyler Johnson also scoring but Ben Bishop allowed three goals on 20 shots as Tampa Bay fell for the fifth consecutive time.
The road team is 6-1 in the last seven while the over is 4-0 in the last four meetings and 7-1 in the past eight at Tampa Bay. Not really a steller game with the way these teams are performing but I think the Lightning get one here but I won't pay the juice...
