The Colorado Avalanche head to the MTS Centre to tangle with the Winnipeg Jets on Wednesday.
Winnipeg was in the wrong place at the wrong time in a 3-1 defeat at St Louis on Monday but when is it a good time to face the Blues who reached the 100 point mark and have posted points in 22 consecutive games within their division. Eric O'Dell was the Jets lone source of offense with a third period tally with Al Montoya stopped 25 shots in the loss. David Backes scored twice with Brenden Morrow also lighting the lamp to make Ryan Miller's 16 save performance a winning one as he remained unbeaten since coming to the Blues with a 7-0-1 record.

A late Montreal scoring burst led the way to a 6-3 decision versus visiting Colorado on Tuesday. Thomas Vanek led the offensive explosion with a hat trick while Travis Moen, Brandon Prust and Dale Weise added goals as the Canadiens scored four times in the third in what was a 3-3 contest at one time to make a winner of Carey Price who recorded 25 saves in the win. The Avalanche received goals from Nathan MacKinnon Maxime Talbot and Jamie McGinn while Jean-Sebastian Gigure struggled between the pipes with five pucks getting by him on 35 shots. This was Avs coach Patrick Roy's first trip to Montreal where he spent ten seasons.
The only trend I'm really interested in is Colorado is 7-3 in their last ten despite Tuesday's defeat. I know this is a back to back but I lean Avalanche as I wait for goalies to be confirmed...
