The Buffalo Sabres head north of the border to take the ice at Rexall Place to face the Edmonton Oilers.
The slumping Sabres are simply looking for a win right now and didn't find it at Calgary where they dropped a 3-1 decision on Tuesday for loss number seven in a row. Buffalo led 1-0 on Drew Stafford's first period tally but that was all she wrote for the offense with Nathan Lieuwen making 23 saves in his first career NHL start. Joe Colborne evened the score 1-1 in the middle frame before third period goals from Mike Cammalleri and Paul Byron put this in the Flames win column with Joni Ortio posting 13 saves. Calgary has now won three of their last four.

Edmonton enjoyed a rare offensive burst and didn't waste it in a dominant 5-1 decision over visiting Nashville on Tuesday. The Oilers were never in danger as they built a 3-0 lead before the Predators got on the scoreboard on Gabriel Bourque's second period tally. That wouldn't be enough with Pekka Rinne charged with all five Oilers goals on 26 shots before getting the hook in the third. Jordan Eberle paced the Edmonton attack with a pair of goals and a helper with Sam Gagne, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall also finding the back of the net with Viktor Fasth recording 28 saves for the win.
Buffalo has gone 6-1 in their last seven versus Edmonton with the over going 3-1-1 in the last five. However the numbers that concern me are the Sabres seven straight defeats so I needto think on this while goalies are confirmed...
