The Montreal Canadiens play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Bell Centre in Thursday night action.
Columbus did everything but put the puck in the net of a 3-1 loss to visiting Carolina for their first road win in Columbus in ten long seasons. This game belonged to Hurricanes netminder Anton Khudobin who stopped a whopping 46 shots while Andrei Loktionov, Nathan Gerbe and Patrick Dwyer supplied the offense to improve to 2-7 in their last nine away games. Boone Jenner tallied with a mere 50 seconds left in regulation to prevent the shutout with Sergei Bobrovsky posting 17 stops in defeat.

Montreal broke open a close contest with Colorado by peppering the visitors with four third period goals on the way to 6-3 decision. Nathan MacKinnon, Jamie McGinn and Maxim Talbot scored for the Avalanche to actually forge a 3-3 tie in the third before the Canadiens fireworks display. Thomas Vanek was the Habs offensive star with a hat trick with Travis Moen, Brandon Prust and Dale Weise also finding the back of the net. Jean-Sebastian Giguere allowed five goals on 35 shots to take the loss while Carey Price won it with his 25 save performance.
