The Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers meet in NHL action from Rogers Place on Saturday night.

The Calgary Flames will look to build on a 5-1 win over Florida last time out. Johnny Gaudreau leads the Flames in scoring with 43 points including a team-high 28 assists while Elias Lindholm has 30 points with 18 assists and 12 goals with Lindholm posting a team-high +23 plus/minus rating while Gaudreau has a +20 rating. Matthew Tkachuk has 17 goals and 18 assists for his 35 points while Andrew Mangiapane has 22 points and a team-high 18 goals. Jacob Markstrom’s gone 13-8-5 with a 2.18 GAA and a .926 save percentage up to this point in the season in goal for Calgary.

The Edmonton Oilers will try to bounce back after a 6-0 shelling at the hands of the Panthers in their last game. Leon Draisaitl leads the Oilers in scoring with 54 points while Connor McDavid is right behind with 53 points, with Draisaitl logging a team-high 25 goals and 28 assists while McDavid has a team-high 34 assists this season. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has 26 points with 23 assists while Jesse Puljujarvi has 25 points and Zach Hyman has 11 goals. Puljujarvi also has a team-best +5 plus/minus rating as well this season. Mikko Koskinen’s seen the majority of Edmonton’s action in goal, going 12-8-1 with a 3.33 GAA and an .895 save percentage this season.

Calgary is 2-5 in their last 7 road games and 1-4 in their last 5 games overall while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 Saturday games. Edmonton is 3-13 in their last 16 games overall and 0-4 in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the over is 6-2-1 in their last 9 division games.

These battle of Alberta games can be tricky as these two teams hate each other. However, the Oilers are flat out driving the struggle bus right now and I think Calgary would love nothing more than to twist the knife and add to Edmonton’s misery. The Flames play their best hockey on the road as it is, so give me the Flames and the cheap price here.
