The Florida Panthers will play road games on back-to-back nights when they take on the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. This is the second and final meeting between the two teams, and the Panthers won the first game 3-2 back in November.
The Panthers have lost six of their last eight games and aren’t getting any offensive production whatsoever. The Panthers have been held to two or less goals in six of their last 10 games, which includes just three goals in their last two contests. Florida goalie Roberto Luongo has allowed 17 goals in seven games since being acquired by Vancouver earlier in the month. The Panthers are 13-21-1-2 on the road this season.

The Anaheim Ducks have lost six of their last eight games, including two in a row. The Ducks struggles have also come on the offensive end, as they’ve scored two or less goals in five of their last six games. While the power play has not been a strength of the Ducks this season, they’ve scored only two power play goals in the month of March. Defensively, goalie Jonas Hiller has allowed three or more goals in four of his last five games. The Anaheim Ducks are 24-7-1-3 on their home ice this season.
The Panthers are 4-1 in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest and 1-6 in their last 7 vs. Pacific. The Ducks are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Eastern Conference and 37-15 in their last 52 vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Panthers are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings vs. the Ducks.
I’d likely stay away from this game due to the lack of value, but there’s no reason not to pick the Ducks if forced to pick. Anaheim has lost two straight and the best chance to snap that skid is at home against one of the worst teams in the NHL.
The Anaheim Ducks will take care of business Sunday night.
