A second period scoring burst lifted Carolina to a 3-2 road victory against Winnipeg on Saturday. Thre goals in the middle frame did the trick with Cam Ward making them stand up with a 33 save performance. Riley Nash, Jordan Staal and Eric Staal each found the back of the net with Andrej Sekera posting a pair of helpers. Jim Slater and Bryan Little supplied Jets with goals while Al Montoya absorbed the defeat with three tallies given up on 32 shots as struggling Winnipeg have fallen in eight of ten while the Hurricanes have won two of three. Carolina continued the dominance of the road team in this series who have won 18-24.
The over is 8-3 in the last eleven in Carolina and 6-2 in the past eight overall while the Islanders are 2-5 in the last seven visits to Carolina. New York is better on the road then home so I need to think about this one while confirming who is between the pipes...
